About Us
-
Our Goal
To keep our current fenced, off-leash area intact without roads or other intrusive additions, for the use of all citizens of San Diego.
-
Our Position
We feel that there is plenty of room for everyone in Mission Bay Park. FIDO started out as a handful of people who gathered after the first public meeting regarding the Fiesta Island Development Plan in September of 2006. We were appalled after reviewing the new plan as it did not mention, let alone account for, the largest user group on the island: Families and their dogs. We are now a strongly lead community group dedicated to preserving this unique recreational resource that we have been using for 30 years. See this section for FIDO's position.
-
Our Proposal
We want the Mayor and the city council to adopt a sound and realistic precise plan that allows off-leash dog users to retain our coastal access. We want to save the 90 acre fenced, off-leash area, not just for the dog owners but for all citizens who enjoy a more primitive environment in which to exercise. See this section for FIDO's detailed proposal.
